Windows

The original stimulus to establish our joinery workshop came from the need to service the growing demand for new and replacement sash windows. It remains the mainstay of our business.

Occasionally sashes are too rotten to be restored. Other sashes have been modified during their lifetime and have lost their original function. Sometimes we are called upon to replace plastic windows where property owners wish to reinstate the period features of their homes.

We are able to replicate the original window to its exact specification. This sometimes requires us to make new cutters to match the delicate profiles made by eighteenth and nineteenth century joiners. We are often able to match the original glass from our various sources so that your windows can contain rolled, drawn or hand crafted glass.

Our windows can be made in various woods including hardwoods and our normal top quality, treated European Redwood. We have a variety of furniture that complements the finished window.

We regularly work on listed buildings and can advise in obtaining Listed Building Consent. We work closely with developers and Conservation Officers to comply with the current regulations.

We have worked on inner city regeneration schemes which have attracted European grants.

Our sliding sash windows have an intrinsic removal system which enables painting and maintenance to be undertaken from inside without the need for expensive and unsightly scaffolding. They can also be fitted with the Ventrolla perimeter sealing system which increases internal comfort and considerably reduces heat loss, increasing the thermal efficiency and therefore reducing the 'U' value of the property.
