Historic Building Restoration

Wessex Restoration specialises in the restoration of historic and listed buildings. As well as renovating existing timber glazing, we design, supply and install wooden windows and doors to match original specifications.

We work closely with conservation officers and local authorities to design timber products in-keeping with the building’s appearance, so that we can help preserve the best period properties of the past for the future.

As experts in the renovation of traditional timber windows and doors, Wessex Restoration understands the importance of care and attention to detail when restoring historic or listed buildings.

Our experienced joinery and installation teams can professionally and sympathetically restore your property to its former glory. We can create intricate replications of historic sections for wooden sash windows and timber doors, as well as wall panelling, roofs and other traditional joinery pieces. We can even incorporate glass that is similar to the original glazing, with minimal disruption to the frame.

Historic building conservation

Wessex Restoration has successfully completed restorations at numerous heritage buildings nationwide, including Grade I and II listed properties. Among our historical projects, we have carried out preservation works on site at the Hanham House redevelopment, Beaufort House and Chesterfield Hospital.

All our timber products are made-to-measure and we work closely with our clients to create exact replicas of the original period features. We ensure that all our products abide by current building regulations and we are up to date with developments in listed building restrictions.
