DOORS

We specialise in making traditionally built period style doors, and can manufacture both external and internal doors in several bespoke period styles, such as Medieval, Gothic, Georgian, Regency, Victorian, Edwardian and other eras. Other build styles include ledge, ledge and brace, farmhouse and country style. A variety of timber species such as oak, ash, redwood, pine and various hardwoods can be specified, as long as they adhere to our environmental policy for sustainable resources.

We also make French doors, again these can be made in a variety of period styles and sizes. 

FIRE DOORS

Our current range of traditionally built doors can be upgraded to fire resisting levels.

We currently hold certificates from Warrington Fire and Research Ltd, that meet the requirements of BS 476, Part 22.  This achieves a fire resistance integrity of thirty minutes, and includes  FD30(I), FD30SC, FD30VP and FRG30/30. Various types of fire rated panels such as raised, fielded and flushed can be included in a variety of panel assemblies. Fire rated glass including Georgian wire, can be incorporated, along with appropriate fire rated self closers, together with furniture and hardware.

The Disability Discrimination Act 1995, and changes to Fire Safety Law which came into operation in October 2006, have implications for all non domestic property in England and Wales. Employers, managers and owners now have responsibility to ensure the safety of everyone who uses their premises. Many responsible bodies have already asked us to remove their outmoded fire doors, and replace them with doors that comply with the latest legislation. 

Listed buildings have a unique requirement in that doors need to retain the original period detail and style of construction. This poses a dilemma between building regulations and The Listed Building Act. We can replicate these type of doors, and importantly make them FD30 compliant using our unique certificated fire rating system.

We are able to manufacture on a supply only basis or supply and fix, where our skilled craftsmen assemble to the required standard. We are also able to offer a regular servicing contract to ensure that the doors retain their fire resistant rating.
